People and culture strategy

You built the product.
Now build the company.

We partner with founders and people leaders to build the people foundation behind sustainable growth — from leadership hires and hard people decisions to the systems and operating rhythms that keep a growing team aligned. Built early, while it’s still cheap to get right.

We’re your People and Culture Strategy Architects.

30 minutes. No deck. Bring the situation you’re actually dealing with.

A note from Sarah

I’ve been the person inside the company making these calls: hiring quickly, rebuilding an org chart, helping a new leader land, and owning the decisions that didn’t work.

Blueprint to Scale brings that operator’s judgment through a team of experienced practitioners — so you get the right person in the room, not a one-size-fits-all playbook.

The problem

What you skipped is now load-bearing.

Most founders don't have a people problem. They have an infrastructure problem wearing a people problem's clothes — a hire that didn't work, a team that stopped moving, a leader quietly underwater, a new employee still finding the light switches in month four.

The structure was never drawn. It got framed in as you went, one urgent decision at a time. That holds fine at 12 people. It does not hold at 40.

01You're not sure what good looks like at this stage, and there's nobody to ask.
02Your org chart is less a document than a rumor.
03Two teams are solving the same problem and neither one knows it.
04Onboarding is a laptop, a Slack invite, and good luck.
05You suspect a few seats hold the wrong people, and you've suspected it for a while.
06Your interview process is four people asking the same three questions.
07You're raising, and you'd rather find the people gaps before someone in diligence does.
08One or two low performers are quietly setting the pace for everyone else.
09Goals were set in January and last opened in January.
10You're the first Head of People, and you're the only one in the room who's never done this at this stage.

None of that means you built badly. It means you built fast. What comes next is drawing the plans properly — while it's still cheap to move a wall.

How we work

Move fast. Build once.

Advisory hours

Ongoing access to a senior people and culture strategist. You bring the hiring decision, the org chart that no longer fits, the conversation you're dreading, the offer you're not sure about. We think it through with you, then help you execute it.

The architect who stays on the job site.

Project work

A defined build with a defined finish. Talent acquisition, onboarding and ramp, performance systems, org design, culture strategy, funding readiness. Scoped, drawn, delivered — on your timeline, not a quarterly cadence.

Drawings you can build from.

Offsites and team sessions

Leadership offsites, alignment work, and CliftonStrengths coaching for individuals and teams, delivered by a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach. For strong people who aren't yet a structure.

Load testing, before the load arrives.

Not sure what you need, or where to start?

That's normal. Start with an assessment: a clear-eyed 'inspection' of what's working, what's exposed, and what will break first — with prioritized recommendations for getting from here to there. You'll leave with a plan whether or not you build it with us. Two different tier offerings to fit most needs.

Who we build with

Three seats. One set of plans.

Founders

You built something people want.

Now you have to build the company around it, and nobody handed you those drawings. We give you the structure, an honest read on your team, and someone who has stood in this exact spot before.

People and operations leaders

You're building it while running it.

And you're doing it alone. We're the experienced peer who isn't on your org chart — for roadmaps, audits, systems built for the size you're growing into, and the employee situations that don't have clean answers.

Venture and private equity

People strategy as portfolio leverage.

Advisory for portfolio founders, and hands-on talent and culture work through diligence and integration.

Don't see yourself here?

Reach out anyway. If we're not the right architect for what you're building, we'll say so — and point you toward someone who is. We'd rather send you somewhere good than take work we can't do well. Let's talk →

Before you post the role. A structured check on whether you're ready to hire well, or about to hire fast and fix it later.

DIAGNOSTIC

Leverage vs. Relief Hiring

Are you hiring to grow, or hiring to breathe? The two produce very different job descriptions — and only one of them is a plan.

Contractor Self-Risk Diagnostic

A structured look at how you're classifying and managing contractors, and where that arrangement may be more exposed than you think.

TEMPLATE

Goals and KPI Template

If you can't explain your top goals on one page, your team can't execute them. Set company goals quarterly, team and individual goals monthly, and keep every level linked to the one above it.

The Contractor Self-Risk Diagnostic is an educational tool, not legal advice. Worker classification rules vary by state and change often — use it to identify areas worth a conversation with employment counsel.

About us

We’ve drawn these plans — and stood on the job site.

We aren’t advisors who read about scaling. Our team has spent decades as executive people operators inside companies going through exactly what you’re going through. We doubled and tripled headcount. We hired the executives, built the systems from nothing, made the hard calls, and lived with the ones we got wrong.

That experience is the work. When you bring us a problem, you’re getting a read from someone who has made the call before — including the times we made it wrong.

People and Culture Strategy Architect

A dynamic People Operations leader with 15+ years of People and HR experience, including 2x VP at startups and a current Board Advisor for MySureStart. Sarah has seen the challenges first hand when founders and companies neglect their people and culture. It costs them money, productivity, momentum, and often, their talented employees.

Sarah sets the strategic point of view behind Blueprint to Scale and works alongside a small team of experienced practitioners. Depending on the engagement, clients may work directly with Sarah, another senior team member, or both — always with the work matched to the challenge.

Known for building HR functions from scratch, leading rapid growth, and shaping cultures in remote, hybrid, and in-person settings, as well as through M&A and rapid growth.

With cross-industry expertise, Sarah specializes in scalable talent infrastructure, organizational change, and aligning people strategies with business goals to maximize results. She is a charismatic leader dedicated to mentoring and fostering high-performing, happy workplaces.

On a personal note, her father is a General Contractor and she grew up ‘volunteering’ on job sites, seeing the difference between well designed and intentional projects and clients, and those who just wanted it built fast. Hence her homage to the building and architectural analogies.
